The 1946 Wheat Penny which has no mint mark indicates that the coin was minted in Philadelphia. This period was when mint marks were not placed on the pennies at the Philadelphia mint. The majority of these no mint mark pennies are common as millions of these were minted in Philadelphia. Their worth in common circulation is of a low order, between a few cents and less than a dollar. The price may however increase in case an exceptionally high-grade piece of someone is graded at MS-65 or more. No mint mark is interesting since collectors who collect it no mint mark coins because they enable them to complete mint location sets of Wheat Pennies and therefore even though they may not be very rare.
